Community-recommended video creators for your startup launch, demo day, and fundraise.
Your product launch video can make or break your fundraise. A mediocre demo day video gets scrolled past. A great one gets screenshotted and shared in Slack channels you will never see. The problem: most video production advice online is written for Fortune 500 companies with $100K budgets and six-month timelines.
This guide is different. These creators were recommended directly by SF founders on Twitter. Every name here has a real track record with startups, not corporate clients.

The Community-Recommended Creators
Mustafa
Twitter: @whosetafa
Recommended by: @haroonisdreamin, @adriannalakatos (2 recommendations)
Mustafa is the closest thing SF has to an in-house startup filmmaker. Based at Founders Inc. (f.inc), he has built the visual identity for some of the most talked-about early-stage companies in the city. His work is cinematic without being overproduced, which matters because investors can smell a brand video that cost $50K and feel nothing.
Notable work: Catalyx, Pintours AI, Mosaic Demo Launch, April (YC), App Chain
Style: Raw, narrative-first, founder-led. Not corporate. Not stock-footage-and-voiceover.
Best for: Pre-seed to Series A founders who want something that feels real and moves fast.

Adil Mania
Twitter: @adilmania
Recommended by: Community pick
Adil is a builder who happens to make videos. He co-founded Large Language Movies, an AI-first production studio, and runs two other projects: Silicon Mania (a tech late-night show) and The Tech Ride (a podcast filmed entirely inside Waymo robotaxis). Before moving to SF, he built StartupOKLM in France to over 20 million views.
That distribution instinct is what separates him from most filmmakers. He does not just shoot -- he thinks about why someone would watch your video to the end and share it.
Notable clients: OpenGradient, Sony Headphones, YC-backed companies
Style: High-energy, entertainment-native. Knows how to make technology genuinely fun to watch.
Best for: Founders who want reach, not just polish. Consumer-facing products. Anything that needs to travel on social.

Aaron

Recommended by: @isausmanov ("Such a talent! He did content for many startups in SF.")
Aaron has a strong reputation in the SF startup community for brand and launch videos. The recommendation is warm and specific -- that is usually a better signal than a polished portfolio.

Post-Production & Editing
If you already have raw footage and just need a great editor, Editor Company is highly recommended. They specialize in startup content and can turn around polished edits fast.

How to Hire a Launch Video Creator in SF
Budget reality: Solo creators typically run $500 to $3,000 per video depending on complexity and edit rounds. Studios start at $5K and scale quickly. If you are pre-seed, go solo. The quality gap is smaller than you think, and the right solo creator will be more invested in your story.
Timeline: Give a solo creator 2 to 3 weeks minimum. Studios need 4 to 6 weeks. If someone says they can do it in 48 hours, ask to see those videos first.
What to send when you reach out:
- 3-sentence product description (what it does, who it is for, what problem it solves)
- 2 to 3 reference videos with notes on what you liked
- Where the video will live (Twitter, LinkedIn, YC demo day, investor emails)
- Your launch date
What to look for in their portfolio: Do not just look at production quality. Look at whether you can tell what the product does within the first 10 seconds. That is the real skill. Also check: have they worked with a startup before? Corporate video experience often does not translate. A founder explaining their product is a different art form than a polished brand film.
Non-negotiable questions to ask:
- How many rounds of revisions are included?
- Do you own the raw footage?
- What is your process if we need a quick turnaround edit after filming?
